This exquisite French Sevres–style perfume casket is a rare and beautifully preserved example of late 19th-century European decorative arts. Crafted in a striking palette of white opaline glass and finished with gilt brass mounts, this oval-form casket houses its suite of three original opaline perfume bottles with matching stoppers—an unusually complete set.
The lid features a finely hand-painted neoclassical female portrait medallion, framed in gold and set against softly mottled blue enamel. Delicate gilt floral garlands embellish the body, while the casket rests on an ornate gilt brass footed base with ring handles to each side—an unmistakable hallmark of the period’s luxury craftsmanship.
A beautiful fusion of opaline glass and hand-painted porcelain, this piece is a standout addition for collectors of French decorative objects, perfume antiques, or Sevres-style portrait pieces.
There is a small amount of tarnish on one of the balla of the feet and two marks on the top of the casket from when it was made. Please examine all pictures.
