A romantic, hand-carved portrait bust of Marie Antoinette, rendered in warm, cream and honey-toned alabaster with a softly translucent quality that catches the light beautifully. Standing 20 inches tall, she is depicted in classical Rococo style with an elaborately upswept coiffure gathered in soft curls and adorned with carved rosettes, and a draped, off-the-shoulder garment falling in fluid, naturalistic folds. Her serene, downward gaze and finely detailed features reflect the skilled hand-carving typical of 19th-century European sculpture.

The bust is mounted on a contrasting variegated marble socle base, adding weight and richness against the pale stone above. Natural veining, subtle surface aging, and soft patina throughout speak to the piece's age and authenticity.
