Art Deco Silvered Figural Desk Seal — The Butterfly Dancer, c. 1920s–30s
A charming Art Deco desk seal modeled as a spirited dancer, arms raised with drapery sweeping behind her like butterfly wings — all the glamour of the Jazz Age in miniature. The bobbed hair and beaded costume place her squarely in the 1920s–30s, when figural cast-metal seals like this brought a note of theater to the writing desk.
Silver-plated, standing 3.5 inches tall on a cylindrical handle base. The sealing face is blank — never engraved — offering a clean slate should you wish to add a monogram, though she’s every bit as lovely left as-is on a shelf or desk.
Condition: Decorative. Silver plate with attractive aged patina; the underside matrix bears an old crack (see photos), so this is offered as a decorative object rather than a working seal. The figure itself displays beautifully.
