Vaseline glass, also known as uranium glass, gained popularity in the late 19th century due to its distinctive yellow-green color and its glow under ultraviolet light, a result of the uranium oxide added during its production. The height of its popularity was during the Art Deco era of the 1920s and 1930s. Vaseline glass was used in a variety of decorative and functional objects, including tableware, lamps, and perfume bottles. This particular perfume bottle has a hand cut crystal ornate topper.
Perfume bottles made from Vaseline glass were particularly prized for their beauty and novelty. The green hue of the glass, combined with the intricate designs and stoppers, made them highly desirable collectibles. The use of uranium in the glass was considered safe at the time, and the unique glow added to their appeal. Today, Vaseline glass perfume bottles are sought after by collectors for their historical significance and aesthetic qualities
