A charming antique French oil painting on board, almost certainly by the same hand as the companion landscape. This pastoral scene depicts a lone figure walking through the countryside, surrounded by tall trees, a rustic fence, and distant buildings.

The artist used wonderfully textured, expressive brushwork, particularly through the foliage and sky, giving this small-scale painting a surprising amount of depth and atmosphere. I especially love the tiny figure tucked into the landscape.

The painting was previously framed and retains visible wear around the perimeter where the former frame rested, slightly more pronounced than on its companion. This would largely be concealed if the painting were reframed. No visible artist signature.
