A cast band of leaf tips and beading closes over the rim, two tall scrolled handles rise well above it in cast acanthus, and the whole stands on a waisted socle above a spreading foot of lotus lappets finished with a beaded edge.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOpaline is glass made opaque with bone ash, and the good examples are never quite opaque.
